Foothills Track

The Foothills Athletic Park upgrades were completed in June 2011 for the Canadian Track and Field Championships. The upgrade provides Calgary track and field athletes and schools a world class outdoor athletics facility.

The enhancement includes an upgraded 400 meter track, four long jump pits, throwing cage and accessible spectator stands. The refurbishment places Calgary among the top cities in the country within this facility category.

This track meets the World Athletics Rule 140 technical requirements.

Glenmore Track

Located in the southwest corner of Glenmore Athletic Park at 5300 19 Street SW, the World Athletics Class II certified facility replaces the old track that was built in the 60s

“The new track at Glenmore Athletic Park has been a welcome upgrade for our member groups this season,” said James Holder, president of Calgary Track Council. “The surface quality and layout have made training and competition more enjoyable and efficient. While we’re still adjusting to the new location and setup, overall feedback from athletes and coaches has been very positive. It’s a facility that’s already making a meaningful difference for Calgary’s track and field community.”
